Earth Day on Sky – Win a Wattson Energy Monitor
Leave the first response April 16, 2009 / Posted in CompetitionsEarth Day is on 22nd April 2009 and to celebrate the event, now in it’s 39th year, Sky are running a series of programs. Amongst the highlights of the day will be Arctic Tale and Evan Almighty on Sky Movies along with climate change and nature programs on National Geographic and The History Channel.
The aim of Earth Day is to raise awareness of protecting the earth and our climate. There are organised events taking place all around the world, including the premiere of Disney’s new nature movie Earth, but you don’t need to attend an event to take part. It’s much simpler for anyone and everyone to get involved. For example, Sky are asking people to do little things including:
1. Walk, cycle or take public transport instead of driving
2. Make sure you recycle everything you can
3. Use less water – like turning the tap off when cleaning your teeth
4. Reduce your energy use – turn computers and lights off
These are all doable by everyone – and if you’re not already doing them, why not make Earth Day your starting day?
As well as their promotion of Earth Day, Sky are also running a competition and are giving you the chance to win a fabulous limited-edition designer Wattson energy monitor. All you have to do is send in your details via email before the end of June for the chance to win this eco gadget.
